Cave Painting Project Reflection

The title of the unit was Cave painting. I got started on this unit by watching a video, searching up different types of native symbols and then making a sketch. The media and skills I used throughout the unit was dry media and then doing it on the brown paper with charkol and pastel. I used the media and skills good by having symbols that I know the meaning to make a story and mixing in the charkol with other colors.I didn't find any difficulty in the art project. It was easy and fun. The type of elements i used during this unit was color, space, and line. I used lines when drawing the village, people, suns rays and the eagle. I used color throughout almost the whole drawing and used space by separating the drawings so they weren't so close such as the eagle and people. I didn't use any different compositional arrangements before producing the final work. My final media was produced in brown paper. My art work was two dimensional. I was happy with my final work because it represented a story, was colorful and I had fun doing it. I enjoyed the project because I got to kind of experience something like what the Native Indians did and it was fun. None of my art skills have improved yet. A new skill that I learned was mixing colors and by having a color be dark in a drawing and then having a part of it light. To have improved my artwork I could have mixed in different colors inside of the eagle instead of making it all brown. *cave art was created a long time ago *it is still found today on rocks *shows something that was important to the Indians *the drawings aren't all together in a line *mixed in colors *having a color be dark and light *we still don't know all of the meanings to the Native Indians symbols
