Human Presence among the trees

•Additive color- mixing of colored light, they are green, red, and blue •Subtractive color- mixing of colored paints, pigments, inks and dyes, they are red blue and yellow •Spectrum- colors of the rainbow arranged in their natural order, ROY G BIV •Hues- one of the colors in the spectrum, have a circular order •Primary colors- red,yellow and blue, they are the 3 pigment colors that can not be mixed or formed by any combination of other colors and all the other colors are derived from these 3 hues •Secondary color- green,orange,and purple, colors that are formed by mixing the primary colors •Tertiary color- yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, blue-purple, blue-green, and yellow-green, colors formed by mixing a secondary and primary color, that's why hue is a two word •Analogous color- any three colors which are side by side on a 12 part color wheel such as yellow-green •Opposite and complementary color- any 2 colors which are directly opposite each other such as red and green, red-purple •Tint- color that is mixed with white •Shade-color that is mixed with black •Intensity- strength or value of a color •Transparent- colors that you can see through •Opaque- colors that you cannot see through •Warm colors- to be visually and emotionally exciting •Cool Colors- calming effect •Tone- lightness or darkness of a color, used to create the 3d illusion •Matt- creates a dull non-reflective surface •Gloss- gives a brighter reflective finish •Monochromatic- use of one color/shades in a single form •Know how to use color as a symbol, color as light and color as emotion- Color as symbol is used to make a certain color represent something in a drawing because red is used to represent danger, anger violence when associated with fire and when associated with the heart it represents love and passion. Color as light represents the colors from the rainbow in order demonstrating that colors come from light. Color as emotion represents our feelings such as green represents envy and red represents rage.
